Tony qualified from Nottingham Trent University with a honours degree in Business Studies in 1980. Focusing on finance options this led to qualifying as an accountant in 1983, gaining an Associate membership in the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants. He then advanced this position to Fellow in 1999 for which he had to amass an extensive knowledge base and skill set, through a commitment to Continuing Personal and Professional Development.
Subsequently to this he progressed around the East Midlands gaining experience in a range of industries, rising from Accounts Clerk and concluding as Group Finance Director of a collection of manufacturing companies with a turnover of £330m and a net profit of £30m with 260 employees reporting directly to him.
Having fulfilled his ambition in the corporate world in 1999 he established Milestone Management Solutions Ltd, this has now grown into a thriving Independent accountancy and business systems practice based in Derby. Milestone’s client base is exclusively property related ranging from single buy to let landlords to clients with significant multiple property holdings and including letting agents, architects and other suppliers to the property market place.
Utilising his business and financial skill sets and his passionate interest in growing and supporting small business Tony endeavours to meet client requirements towards profit enhancement, tax reduction and cash flow maximisation whilst actively focused on the client company’s growth. Under his leadership Milestone Management Solutions Ltd attained the status of a Gold Partner with Xero Accounting Software (one of only 5 in the East Midlands); a Silver Partner with Receipt Bank, producing automated entry of invoices and receipts into your accounting software thus significant time savings; an Accredited Partner with Workflow Max, a project management and lead generation tool linking seamlessly with Xero; Milestone was awarded the accolade of being named the Best Management Accountancy Company in Derbyshire for 2015.
In November 2015 Tony was one of the founders of Earl & Pelham Ltd, along with Andy Churchill and Andy Watts becoming shareholder and Finance Director, with responsibility for all compliance and financial systems within the business. The first project was a commercial conversion of a business premises into 10 apartments.
This was closely followed, in December 2015 by the founding of Ocean West Ltd with Michelle West which is a business specialising in the acquisition of property for conversion into HMO’s. The first of these was completed in September 2016 and is aimed at the student market place in Derby and Stoke areas. We are also experimenting with Rent to Rent Serviced Accommodation in Nottingham.
Tony also has a buy to let portfolio, started in 2000 and has developed and extended his own property.
Progressive Property Network Founder Member status was achieved in February 2015 for Nottingham and September 2015 Derby by Tony in which he is a very active participant in both meetings demonstrating his expertise and knowledge and attracting many new clients through both of these channels.
